Leprechaun tossing to celebrate Ireland's saint

St Patrick's Day was partied about in Christchurch with leprechaun-throwing challenges, ukulele symphonies and occupied bars.

Controller Mike Coulter stated police managed firewater-identified clutter yet it was not at bizarre levels.

"We have been occupied and there has been drinking disarrange, which we get on any occupied night, however there has been nothing out of the normal," he stated.

CBD Bar in midway Christchurch expected an extraordinary occasion to remember party about St Patrick's Day, finish with prizes for ensembles and a "leprechaun-throwing challenge".

"It wasn't a true leprechaun, clearly. It was a sack loaded with 20 kilograms of sand and dressed as a leprechaun," stated bar boss Matt Young.

"The swarm was great acted. We had no issues whatsoever."

America Holdene, Colleen Donnelly and Janine Pineda were around revellers wearing green at an Irish-themed gathering at Baileys Bar in Edgeware yesterday evening.

The Irishman Bar partied about with Irish lovers of the dance floor, a six-in number ukulele symphony and a full band. Bar co-holder Nik Dodge stated swarms were not tremendous.

"It has been a sensible swarm. It has been a touch quieter in light of the fact that it is a Sunday night."
